Before You Return to Campus

Effective Fall Quarter 2021 (October 1, 2021), City University of Seattle in Washington State will be a vaccinated campus per the governor’s COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement proclamation (21-14 and 21-14.1).  All Washington State on-campus students, staff and faculty will be required to be fully vaccinated

Attestation forms and exemption information is secure and limited disclosure regarding  vaccination status is allowed, as long as the only serves the need to ensure that vaccination policies and face covering requirements are being followed. Vaccine information will be accessible to specific individuals in Human Resources (employees) and Student Affairs (students).  Note that under FERPA, institutions must keep a log of persons who receive access to student vaccine records per 34 CFR 99.32.

Students who attend classes in Washington state will need to attest to full-vaccination status or declare a vaccination exemption. Attestation Forms must be completed by September 24, 2021.

If you are vaccinated, please ensure that you have completed the Student Attestation Form. This must be completed by September 24, 2021.  If you require a paper version of this form for complete, please email to request a copy. If you have missed the September 24th deadline for submission, please contact your advisor for assistance.

Students who require a medical or religious vaccination exemption will need to fill out the Student Attestation Form and declare an exemption. Those that declare an exemption will need to provide documentation for their medical or religious exemption.

Per the Governor’s second proclamation, the only exemptions permitted are medical or religious. If you do not meet the vaccination requirements you will be unable to attend in-person instruction in Washington State. Please contact your student advisor to discuss course options if you are unable to comply with these requirements.

Please do not attend on-campus classes if you are not feeling well. Please contact your instructor for guidance on how to proceed with any missed coursework.

While On Campus

CityU has open areas for eating and drinking. Nearby restaurants include Starbucks (3320 S 23rd Street,) and Shari’s Café and Pies (2323 S Union Ave).
Yes, all CityU students and employees are required to wear face coverings when inside CityU buildings, subject to the exceptions listed in Order of the Secretary of Health 20-03.5.

Yes, there are a number of public areas on the campus that students may use, such as the library and student lounges. At this time, the campus is only open on class days and these rooms will only be available on those days.

Although not required for our students, some students do ask to be issued a CityU ID card. If you would like an ID card, please send an email to and a CityU staff-member will assist you.

CityU students and guests can utilize free WiFi while on campus. Please login using your CityU credentials for access.
