Take the Next Step Toward Achieving Your Goals

You know where you want to go. At CityU, we have the degree and certificate programs to help you get there. Our Admissions Team will help you find the right undergraduate program for you and your career goals, whether you want to advance in your field or pursue a new path.

Over 95 percent of students surveyed said they would see a return on the investment that they were making with CityU. It’s our mission to advance anyone with a desire to learn, and our faculty and faculty are committed to delivering programs designed to help you succeed.

Delivery Modes

At CityU, we believe in giving you maximum flexibility so you can earn your degree or certificate on your schedule. Whether you choose to attend classes online or on-site, you can finish your program quickly or go slower to accommodate your work and family obligations. If you have your eye on a specific career, our advisors can help you select the program and courses that will position you for success in that area. If you want to explore a little first, we can help you with that, too.

CityU’s online programs are offered through a virtual classroom where you can log in to check assignments, discussion topics, and video. Students collaborate and discuss topics with one another on a portal within this virtual classroom and on a system called Blackboard. This option allows you to complete the same degree but have greater flexibility of where and when you complete your coursework.
By attending classes on-site in a more traditional classroom setting, you have the opportunity to network with classmates and talk with instructors face to face. CityU offers daytime, evening, and weekend classes at its locations throughout the world. Please contact an advisor to find out if the courses you’re interested in taking are offered at the location closest to you.

Courses are available on-site in the following locations:

  • Seattle, WA
  • Everett, WA
  • Tacoma, WA
  • Renton, WA
  • Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM)
  • Vancouver, WA
Some students prefer taking some classes online and some on-site. This is “mixed-mode.” Many programs offer this mode. Please connect with an advisor to see if this is possible for the program you’re interested in.
Performance-based programs allow students to earn credit in an innovative way that recognizes the skills they have developed in the working world. Once students demonstrate that they have a developed skill or set of skills, students are able to earn credits for the knowledge they have already mastered and move on to the material that they do not know.

Students are evaluated through assessments according to learning outcomes made known prior to the student entering the program. While working through these outcomes, students are supported by a faculty facilitator and proceed as quickly as they would like to through the program.

Admissions Requirements

Our academic year runs from July 1-June 30, and Commencement occurs in June. Some degree programs start every quarter, and others start at specific times of the year. Depending on your program, there may be program-specific admission requirements. If you are interested in starting at a particular time, contact an admissions advisor to find out when you can start your program.

Under the rolling admission policy, the University will accept applications continually throughout the year. However, due to the increased time required to process documents for international students, all admission documents must be received at least 30 days prior to the start of the initial term of enrollment (60 days recommended), observing the following deadlines:

International Student Admission Deadlines
Term/Start Date Deadline
Summer begins July 1 June 1
Fall begins October 1 September 1
Winter begins January 1 December 1
Spring begins April 1 March 1

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)

Many incoming undergraduate students have spent a lot of quality time in the real world, earning valuable experience outside the classroom. Our PLA program can translate that experience into college credit, which gives you a well-earned head start on completing your degree. Want more details about the PLA program?
