Delivery Modes
At CityU, we believe in giving you maximum flexibility so you can earn your degree or certificate on your schedule. Whether you choose to attend classes online or on-site, you can finish your program quickly or go slower to accommodate your work and family obligations. If you have your eye on a specific career, our advisors can help you select the program and courses that will position you for success in that area. If you want to explore a little first, we can help you with that, too.
Courses are available on-site in the following locations:
- Seattle, WA
- Everett, WA
- Tacoma, WA
- Renton, WA
- Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM)
- Vancouver, WA
Students are evaluated through assessments according to learning outcomes made known prior to the student entering the program. While working through these outcomes, students are supported by a faculty facilitator and proceed as quickly as they would like to through the program.
Performance-based programs:
Admissions Requirements
Our academic year runs from July 1-June 30, and Commencement occurs in June. Some degree programs start every quarter, and others start at specific times of the year. Depending on your program, there may be program-specific admission requirements. If you are interested in starting at a particular time, contact an admissions advisor to find out when you can start your program.
Under the rolling admission policy, the University will accept applications continually throughout the year. However, due to the increased time required to process documents for international students, all admission documents must be received at least 30 days prior to the start of the initial term of enrollment (60 days recommended), observing the following deadlines:
Term/Start Date | Deadline |
---|---|
Summer begins July 1 | June 1 |
Fall begins October 1 | September 1 |
Winter begins January 1 | December 1 |
Spring begins April 1 | March 1 |

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
Many incoming undergraduate students have spent a lot of quality time in the real world, earning valuable experience outside the classroom. Our PLA program can translate that experience into college credit, which gives you a well-earned head start on completing your degree. Want more details about the PLA program?
