If you have a bachelor’s degree or educational background in accounting and want to take accredited CPA exam prep courses, our online Graduate Certificate in Public Accounting is for you. This program will give you a solid foundation for what to expect on the exam, as well as strong analytical skills that can easily be applied to an accounting profession. Courses are available online, so you can study around your schedule.
The Graduate Certificate in Public Accounting will prepare you to take the Uniform Certified Public Accounting exam through a challenging review of accounting concepts. CityU uses Becker materials to teach and review concepts historically addressed in the exam, making this program an efficient use of your time and resources.
Courses completed for this certificate also count toward your Master of Business degree. Each in-depth CPA review course is recognized for credit by the Washington State Board of Accountancy and prepares you to become a Certified Public Accountant.
By completing this certificate, you’ll be 25% of the way through your MBA.
Learning Outcomes
Throughout the Graduate Certificate in Public Accounting online program, you’ll learn:
- Business law, professional ethics, legal responsibilities, and federal taxation
- Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) in relation to auditing and attestation engagements
- To apply knowledge using analytical skills and evaluation techniques
- To analyze internal management information to make decisions about pricing, inventory procurement, make or buy alternatives, and production volume
- To develop budgets and analyze performance against their projections

- A completed undergraduate degree in Accounting or similar field or an equivalent international degree is required to apply.
