CityU celebrates partnership with EXATEC Seattle

The Presidents of EXATEC Seattle and CityU with Consul Dondisch

City University of Seattle and EXATEC Seattle, an organization for the more than 1,000 local alumni of Tecnológico de Monterrey, celebrated a new partnership with an agreement signing ceremony and reception on Friday, April 27.

The partnership agreement formally opens opportunities for the university and members of EXATEC Seattle to collaborate, and also offers members of the alumni group educational benefits.

“About 2,000 of CityU’s current students are international, and about 500 of those study domestically,” City University of Seattle President Randy Frisch said at the event. “This makes CityU a special place, and it gives students an idea of how important global connections are.”

A few members of EXATEC Seattle have already volunteered to welcome students from Mexico participating in CityU’s Summer in Seattle program by hosting company visits where they work.

“This partnership is helping us achieve our goals by providing opportunities to keep learning and developing,” said Alma Sanchez, the president of EXATEC Seattle.

Consul Roberto Dondisch of the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle was a distinguished guest at the event.

“Today is a special day because one of the most active groups of professionals from Mexico is right here,” Consul Dondisch said. “The number one thing between people from Mexico and the U.S. is to keep getting together, because that strengthens the community.”
