SEATTLE, WA. – City University of Seattle is launching its third school – the School of Applied Leadership (SAL). This School is dedicated to empowering professionals to be intentional and inspired leaders. For the past decade, CityU has built a roster of well-regarded certificate, master’s, and doctoral leadership programs, each integrating best practices from the public and private sector. These programs demonstrate CityU’s ongoing commitment to serving working professionals with a relevant education that can be applied today.
Four programs are offered under SAL – Doctor of Education in Leadership; Master of Arts in Leadership; Master of Education in Adult Learning, and graduate certificates, including one in Change Leadership. Each program integrates practical leadership methods, theory, reflection, and critical analysis into its curriculum, and is taught by practicing professionals. In addition to programs offered, SAL works closely with local organizations to provide leadership workshops, coaching, consulting, and other customized offerings.
According to Dr. Steven Olswang, CityU’s Provost, “CityU is delighted to launch this new School. It embodies our commitment to growing leaders at all levels, through various forms of education. We want to be sure that we are empowering leaders with the skills necessary to succeed in business, education, healthcare, and the countless sectors that are growing today.”
Dr. Kelly Flores will be the Dean of this new School. Dr. Flores holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Education in Adult Education and Distance Learning.
