Nancy Pfaff: Teaching with Gaming

On Thursday, April 17th, CityU faculty Nancy Pfaff presented her unique approach to teaching mathematics through gaming at the Lake Washington School District Resource Center.

Nancy, a winner of the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics, has had her approach to education covered by the Seattle Times and has seen outstanding returns on student engagement with this methodology. In addition to her role a Teaching Faculty at CityU, Nancy works as a Gifted Education Specialist in the Lake Washington School District.

This is the first presentation in the Washington Educators Innovation Network (WEIN)a series of presentations highlighting innovative teaching methodologies being employed by outstanding educators! These presentations cover everything from classroom management to enhanced curriculum, and are designed to promote instances of successful classroom innovation taking place in Washington.
