Master in Counseling Alum Earns Leadership Position at Valley Cities Behavioral Health Services

headshot Susie KrollCity University of Seattle alumna — Susie Kroll, MA, MHP, LMHCA — was honored with Board Recognition from Valley Cities Behavioral Health Services on December 10, 2015 and promoted to an Assistant Site Director of a clinical facility.

Susie received recognition for her intervention and crisis work at the King County Medical and Dental Clinic from October 22 to 25, 2015. She worked with the Seattle Police Department to de-escalate stressful and crisis situations while over 4,000 people received medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health services at the clinic at Seattle Center.

The Valley Cities Board of Directors felt that Susie promoted a sense of community while fostering the guiding principles and mission of Valley Cities both with her work with patients and clients and the partnerships that she fostered with the Seattle Police Department. Over the course of the 4 day event, numerous crisis situations were de-escalated and resolved without further incident or arrest. Susie’s dedication and passion for her work and the Valley Cities mission can be seen at the newest Valley Cities site and Integrated partnership at the Meridian Center for Health, of which she is the Assistant Site Director for Behavioral Health. Meridian Center for Health is an integrated site serving patients and clients needing medical, dental, women and infant care, maternity services, and behavioral health. King County Public Health, Neighborcare Health, and Valley Cities Behavioral Health have integrated to coordinate care and reduce barriers and access to care in the North end of King County.

Susie graduated from City University of Seattle with a Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2014. She completed internships with both Sound Mental Health and Valley Cities before being hired at Valley Cities as a Clinician and promoted to an Assistant Site Director. She is an outstanding graduate to have in our midst and is one we are proud to call a CityU Alumni.
