READ MORECity University of Seattle proudly celebrated the accomplishments of its graduates during commencement on June 16 at Seattle’s Key Arena. A total of 528 students from multiple countries participated in the ceremony.
Student guest speakers Kim Nguyen, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Charles Smith, who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology, shared about their educational journeys with CityU.
Kim began her speech by encouraging her peers and fellow graduates to work hard and be kind, “Don’t give yourselves a chance to regret anything. Think about what motivates you, and do what you love”. Followed by Charles, who said “We’ve made choices to arrive at this place… no matter what our unique reasons are, we’ve done it for ourselves. We’ve proved it to ourselves”.
The graduating class of 2018 is a truly accomplished group. Among them was an active duty Marine watching online from Japan, a teacher turned school counselor, five doctoral graduates and many others.
Hundreds of guests attended the ceremony (while hundreds more viewed live online) and watched their family members and friends cross the finish line and receive their degrees.
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2018! At CityU, we’re all about the finish, and we couldn’t be prouder of your success.
