Helping Transitioning Servicemembers Through Heroes Corporate Fellowship Academy
This cohort of 24 is made up of men and women transitioning from the military. In the course of about three months, this program offers these students the skills and knowledge intended to expand the capabilities of transitioning service members as they get ready to take on corporate positions. This educational course covers a number of areas that employers have frequently cited as skills that are important in employee selection, development, and advancement. Including: Six Sigma Green Belt, Project Management, Decision Making, Networking/Interviewing/Resume/LinkedIn. This cohort was taught these critical skills so that they can transitioning private or public sector with ease.
7-Eleven; Amazon; City of Lacey; Compass Group/Eurest Services; Economic Development Council; Seattle Cancer Care Alliance; Fuse Networks; Group Health; Internet Identity; Kent School District; King County; Magnum Crane; McKinstry Co.; Pierce County; Port of Olympia; Starbucks; Tacoma Pierce Chamber; ThyssenKrupp; UPS; and Williams-Sonoma are all corporate partners of Heroes Corporate Fellowship Academy. Several senior leaders from these organizations and Joint Base Lewis-McChord were present today in celebration of this cohort.
Over 50 students have gone through this program and graduated, and 80 percent are placed in positions. The average salary of a person placed is $68,000.
