CityU in Vietnam
In 2012, City University of Seattle began offering educational programs in Hanoi, Vietnam, with its first educational partner in the country, the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV). The partnership offers students the opportunity to complete a CityU bachelor’s degree and equivalent Vietnamese bachelor’s degree in the amount of time it would take to complete one degree.
In 2017, CityU expanded its partnerships to other Vietnamese universities to make it possible for students to start their bachelor’s degrees in Vietnam and complete them in Seattle at CityU.
Banking Academy of Vietnam
CityU and the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV) located in Hanoi welcomed the first cohort of students in 2012. These students were the first to enroll in a double degree program. Through the partnership, students from BAV can enroll in CityU’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Individualized Program of Study – Finance.
CityU faculty members travel to Hanoi to teach at BAV’s campus in a mixed mode format, and students have the opportunity to travel to Seattle as well.
The Banking Academy of Vietnam, Hoc Vien Ngan Hang, was established in 1961 and is a state-owned institution of higher education. The institution was established for the purposes of delivering professional education, higher education and post-graduate training in the fields of monetary funds, credit and banking. The institution offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in business, finance, banking, accounting and management information systems.
Through CityU and Banking Academy of Vietnam’s partnership, both institutions offer degree completion options for students:
