CityU in San Luis Potosi and Monterrey

Cohort #2Hello again! The last two weeks were full of travel and this next two weeks will be equally busy. I was fortunate to have visited our students and colleagues at Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi and Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. In all, the trip was wonderful thank you to our double degree coordinators, students, and colleagues.

My first few days on the week was to UASLP. CityU and UASLP have collaborated to offered high quality programs to students from San Luis Potosi for a year now. The collaboration started with the School of Engineering and has now expanded to all the Schools at UASLP. At the moment, CityU offers the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Bachelor of Arts in Management at UASLP. I would like to send a warm thank you to the students at UASLP who shared their experiences in the countless recruitment sessions! Oh and we did a recruitment video too – that’s being edited at the moment and will share as soon as UASLP competes it. Furthermore, I would like to thank Lic. Mariela Chavez our double degree coordinator at UASLP for everything!!! On a final note, I would like to welcome to the CityU family the three new students that will start at their BAM program at UASLP in a week! Congratulations!

My second stop was at UANL, Mexico’s third largest institution with over 132,000 students. At UANL, our double degree coordinator and logistics expert, Lic. Horacio Carreon, with the help of students, recruited a sizeable second cohort of 21 students. I was extremely fortunate to meet the student students at UANL and provide an impromptu Blackboard and Library Services presentation! To date, CityU has close to 40 students at UANL with an additional more joining in winter quarter. Our colleagues at UANL are extremely pleased with the program that CityU will expand our degree offerings to other school within UANL. More on that at a later date
Finally, this week, I’ll be visiting CETYS Universidad, our longtime partner in Baja California! This year, CityU and CETYS will have changed for good for more than 100+ alumni! More on this next week!
