Graduation Throwback: Greaa B.
Graduation Throwback! Congratulations, Greaa Bribiesca! We may be in the middle of a cold winter...
READ MOREIt seen awhile since I last wrote. Not because I had nothing to report but because the opposite was true. In the last three months, City University of Seattle in Latin America has had a tremendous growth and influence.
I was fortunate to have been asked to participate in an International Conference sponsored by the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Secretary of Public Education (SRE and SEP for their Spanish acronym, respectively). The conference objective was to look at ways of providing educational opportunities to Mexican and Mexican Americans living in the United States and Canada. I would like to thank CityU for their supporting such endeavor.
As you know, CityU started three new partnerships in Mexico. These new partnerships are in Puebla, San Luis Potosi, and Monterrey, Mexico. In all, CityU has expanded its based in Mexico by changing the lives for good to those with a desire to learn. If you are interested in more information on each partner, visit our location page: https://www.cityu.edu/locations/index.aspx.
This past July and August, CityU hosted students from all four partnerships in Mexico in Seattle and Prague! In all 72 students traveled abroad via CityU’s short-term study abroad programs. In Seattle, students from Puebla, San Luis Potosi, Monterrey, Cuernavaca, Mexicali, Tijuana, and Ensenada started their double degree program. While in Prague, students from the last three listed cities traveled to CityU in Prague to mark the mid-point of their double degree program and to obtain a firsthand experience in Europe. Finally, CityU and CETYS Universidad are pleased to announce the first cohort of our double degree of the Bachelor of Arts in Apply Psychology was successfully launched this past summer. Congratulations to the students!
On a final note, I would like to welcome Lic. Mariela Chavez Ramirez to the CityU family. Mariela is the new double degree coordinator in San Luis Potosi. Welcome Mariela! As a reminder to students from Monterrey, Puebla, and Baja California, CityU has a double degree coordinator at your site to provide assistance to you and your families. To obtain contact information on each double degree coordinator, visit CityU’s location page.
