Greetings from one of the world’s largest city: Mexico City. Dr. Steven Olswang, CityU’s Provost, and I are waiting for our flight to San Luis Potosi on this beautiful Sunday morning. The past two weeks have been full of travels, presentations, meetings with our colleagues, and most importantly checking in with CityU’s students in Mexico.

After my last blog, I was at CityU – Bellevue campus for a day – full of meetings. The next day, I travel to our first Mexican partner, CETYS Universidad. The trip went very well. In all, more than 140 students attended the recruitment sessions at all three CETYS’ campuses: Tijuana, Ensenada, and Mexicali. Further to recruitment, I met with Dr. Scott Venezia, Dean of the School of Business at CETYS and other executives. On my last day at CETYS, I was fortunate to be there during one of our intensive weekend sessions and check-in with students. Also, our Director of Academic Affairs, China, Dr. Mariella Remund, was visiting CETYS as a Distinguish Chair, and we were able to briefly check-in. I want to thank the students for the photo shot and apologize for the students who did not have a weekend session while I was there.

After CETYS, Dr. Olswang and I met up in Mexico City’s airport to travel to Puebla to attend the CONAHEC Conference. Dr. Olswang co-presented with Dr. Scott Venezia presented on “Internationalizing the Curriculum” while Mtra. Alicia Cabrero from Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi and I presented on “Strategies for Internationalization: The UASLP-CityU Experience.” Both presentations were well received. CityU would like to thank the CONAHEC Organizing Committee for a wonderful conference. On a final note, it is worth saying that Dr. Olswang was the lucky winner of a raffle sponsored by our partners in Puebla, Universidad Autonoma Popular del Estado de Puebla!
