READ MORECity University of Seattle hosted its first annual Latino Leadership Conference entitled Reaching Out Tour Latino Community: Building Long-Lasting Partnerships and Support.
The April 20 conference was an effort to begin building partnerships with the Latino community. Latino organizations from Bellevue School District’s Highland Middle School and Interlake High School, in addition to the Latino group from Bellevue Community College, all participated in the event.
Guest speakers included: Uriel Iñiquez, CityU of Seattle alumnus and executive director of the Washington Commission on Hispanic Affairs; Dr. Carlos Adams, CityU education adjunct professor and CityU Albright School of Education students Ernesto Sanchez and Beatrice Diaz. CityU leaders Judy Hinrichs and Craig Schieber also attended the event.
Dr. Cescilio Chavez, CityU academic coordinator and event organizer, says he is already planning for next year’s Latino Leadership Conference “which will be mucho mas grande y major!
