CityU Faculty Presenting at AMHCA Conference
Earlier this year, we told you about Associate Professor Dr. Ellen Carruth’s work on “Finding Their Voice,” an exploratory investigation on the impact of state budget cuts on mental health service providers. Now, Ellen will be presenting on the project at the annual American Mental Health Counselors Association Conference, held this year in Seattle on July 10-12. Her presentation will focus on data from the exploratory qualitative investigation and examine the implications of that data, suggest directions for further research, and discuss the importance of action research in Healthcare Reform. Ellen will also be joined by her CityU colleague, Dr. Thom Field, who will be presenting in three workshops at the conference. Thom will be presenting with Eric Beeson of Emporia State University on topics that include “When Your Left Brain Knows What Your Right Brain is Doing, ” and “The New ABCs: Cognitive-Behavior Therapy From a Neuroscience Perspective.” We’ll check back in with Ellen and Thom after the conference for an update on how their presentations went!
