CityU Becomes a Partner for Veteran Supportive Campuses
On September 30, 2015, City University of Seattle proudly signed a memorandum of understanding with the Washington State Department of Veteran Affairs (WDVA) to become a Partner for Veteran Supportive Campuses.
By signing this agreement, CityU agrees to uphold the eight keys of success as outlined by WDVA here, while pursuing the Principles of Excellence as stated by the President of the United States also stated here.
As a university committed to serving service men and women, CityU proudly…
- Provides educational plans for military and veteran education beneficiaries, and their spouses.
- Continue to be committed to transparent enrollment and advising practices
- Ensures accreditation of all new programs prior to enrolling students, while designating a point person for academic and financial aid questions to military personnel and their partners.
All of which, fulfill and satisfy President Obama’s Principles of Excellence.
At the ceremony, President Richard Carter welcomed the Director of Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, Alfie Alvarado-Ramos, and individuals from WorkSource, Camo2Commerce, AmeriCorps VetCorp and the Student Veterans Association.
