Kathy brings fresh ideas and executive experience to help companies and professionals succeed in the workforce today. With over two decades of marketing management experience, and as the founder and chief executive of two Internet companies, Kathy has established herself as a consummate professional who develops strategies to meet bottom-line objectives.
Kathy’s career started on the agency side with SCC&B: Lintas and Admarketing, where she managed premier client accounts and helped launch seven innovative TV subscription services. After her agency work, Kathy moved to the client side as a marketing executive at Viacom, Times Mirror, and TCI Cablevision, just to name a few. She won several cable industry awards and was the president of the Bay Area Cable Cooperative. Upon moving to the Pacific Northwest she negotiated the Seattle Mariners’ first cable television contract and launched NorthWest Cable News (NWCN). As head of marketing, she helped make NWCN the highest rated regional cable news network in the country.
Aside from her success in marketing, Kathy has also succeeded as an Internet entrepreneur. She founded FilmPix, which was ultimately acquired by Hollywood.com, a movie information service; and ParentOrganizer, an online communications tool used by schools and community organizations to inform and interact with families.
Now, Kathy is sharing the knowledge she has gained over the years and is sharing it in the classroom at City University of Seattle and Bellevue College as an adjunct faculty member. Kathy graduated cum laude in broadcast journalism and political science from Ohio State University and received her MBA from Pepperdine University. She has held leadership positions in the Puget Sound Chapter of the American Marketing Association, including President.
