CityU Accepted into ACRL’s ‘Assessment in Action’ Program

City University of Seattle has been accepted into the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) “Assessment in Action: Academic Libraries and Student Success” program.

A group of librarians and faculty at CityU completed a competitive application and were one of 73 teams accepted into the 14-month professional program. “Assessment in Action” is funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services in the amount of $249,300, and is undertaken in partnership with the Association for Institutional Research and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities. The work facilitated through this program and the learning communities it generates is on the leading edge of assessment for academic libraries. It is highly relevant for the higher education environment that is increasingly looking for data to support positive impact on student learning.

The “Assessment in Action” program has three broad goals:

As part of this program, CityU will aim to develop a sustainable model for assessing the impact of programmatic instruction on student learning, and will receive support from the ACRL in the form of professional development, as well as a financial contribution.
