Walk for Rice Team Fundraises $3751 For Local Food Banks
City University of Seattle showed up strong this year at the 25th Annual ACRS Walk for Rice Fundraiser for the ACRS Food Bank.
The event totals are still being tallied after a successful day of celebrating and walking at Seward Park last Saturday. From where things stand, CityU finished in 10th place for fundraising teams!
As of June 30, 2015, the total amount raised by the CityU team is $3751.15! This money will go a long way in providing nutritious meals to the more than 5,000 patrons of the food bank. The Walk was a great success too. Over 1,000 people were present for the event, and the CityU team was one of the largest at the park! With our CityU banner and our team t-shirts, we caught the attention of the emcees who announced our team at the beginning of the walk, and as our crew crossed the finish line! It was a great time for those who participated and a fun time for us to support CityU at this local event.
The Walk For Rice (WFR) team would like to thank the executive leadership at CityU for sponsoring us, and Antonio Esqueda Flores for opening up his home to serve as a base for team members. Thanks to everyone for their support!
Congratulations to Ellen, Mele, Sara, Grace and the CityU WFR team!
