Summer in Seattle Program – Mexico Students Visit Boeing
The Summer in Seattle integrated study abroad program, Session A, is almost over! One of the summer program objectives is to immerse students into the Seattle culture and local multinational businesses headquartered in the Pacific Northwest. Students interact with key stakeholders at these companies to gain real life experiences and potentially landing a position after they graduate.
Recently, students visited the Boeing assembly plant near Everett, Washington. They were eager to be inside the world’s largest building, by volume, and see how airplanes are made! The visit offered students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations via an apply research course. After the visit, two CityU students employed by Boeing did a panel presentation at CityU’s downtown Seattle campus in order to enhance the students’ understanding of the Boeing culture and working environment.
CityU would like to thank Guillermo Velasco and Robert Burrell for their presentation and volunteering their time. Both panelists spoke of adoptability and leadership. They answered students’ questions and shared professional wisdom how their double degree will make them more employable in the future. The students were thrilled to have a bigger panorama about what Boeing does and knowing what a company this size seeks in their employees. Some CityU Mexico students are now considering seeking internship opportunities with the company.
