Skagit County Tulip festival
For most Americans, the ubiquitous yellow school bus evokes memories of their younger school years, or at the very least, a challenging question on the driver’s license test. For those who did not grow up in the United States, it’s a new and unique experience.
In mid-April, some of the international students hopped on board one of these traditional school busses and travelled out to Mount Vernon to see some of the largest flower farms in the United States at the annual Skagit County Tulip festival.
And our students weren’t the only out-of-towners either – the Tulip Festival committee reports that 49 States (Mississippi being the only absentee) and 56 countries sent visitors to the Skagit County Tulip festival last year.
After taking in the sights as well as hundreds of pictures, our students headed back to Seattle, stopping by the small historic town of La Conner and enjoyed the relaxing small town atmosphere, as well as the souvenirs and ice cream! (And of course, taking more pictures!)
