Message from the President – October 2016
Greetings, City University of Seattle community,
I am grateful for the opportunity to be the new president of City University of Seattle, our successful, innovative, potential-rich institution. What drew me to City University was our ability to do good for others, whether that’s helping our students, our community or our discipline. That’s been what drives me no matter my position or profession, and I look forward to continuing to do good with you.
As I officially step into the role of president, I am looking forward to strengthening and growing our ties in the Seattle community, in Canada, and abroad. I am anxious to work with the university’s talented leadership team, faculty, board members, and staff members on our collective mission to provide our students an exceptional experience.
Over the past few months we’ve had a lot of accomplishments to celebrate. This summer we recognized graduates at commencement ceremonies in Seattle and abroad, we welcomed CityU Mexico students participating in our annual Summer in Seattle program, Provost Kurt Kirstein and I helped Vice President Arden Henley open the new Edmonton, Alberta, campus, and more. Most recently, I had the privilege to travel to Mexicali to help celebrate the 55th anniversary of our partner, CETYS University. There truly are great things happening at CityU.
I look forward to continuing our university’s mission of improving lives for good through education. Together, and along with our National University System affiliates, we make a difference.
