Study Business and Technology in China and Seattle
In 1996, City University of Seattle started to offer CityU's Master in Business Administration (MBA) program in China. Since then, higher education access increased by offering degree completion programs to students. These degree completion programs provide students the opportunity to complete part of a bachelor degree in China and transferring these credits to earn a bachelor degree in the United States. The CityU MBA program in China has a strong alumni presence with over 2,300 graduates.
University of International Business and Economics
Founded in 1951 and formerly called Beijing Institute of Foreign Trade, the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) became a state university in 2000 under the leadership of the Ministry of Education and merged with China Institute of Finance. Together, CityU and UIBE partnered to offer CityU's MBA program designed for busy professionals in China who wish to earn a U.S. degree taught by CityU faculty from Canada, Europe, and the United States. The program design is ideal for executives with limited time with classes taught in Beijing on the weekends.
Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) was founded in 1993 and is the Chinese technology hub located in Shenzhen near Hong Kong. Shenzhen Polytechnic has 15 schools and offers 92 majors.
In 2009, SZPT and CityU partnered to offer an innovative program designed to increase educational opportunities to students in Shenzhen. Students at SZPT enroll in coursework leading to a Chinese degree and a CityU undergraduate certificate. These credits may be transferred to CityU's Bachelor of Arts in Management, Logistics or a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with students studying at the CityU Seattle campus.
Zhejiang Financial College
Zhejiang Financial College (ZFC) was founded in 1975, is a national key polytechnic college in China. It was founded with a mission to cultivate high-quality and highly-skilled professionals for the financial industry in China.
CityU and ZFC provide students in Hangzhou, China access to a Chinese degree as well as a CityU undergraduate certificate. Students have the option to transfer to CityU in Seattle to complete the Bachelor of Arts in Management.
Wuhan University was founded in 1893 and is a national key comprehensive university with courses in philosophy, economics, law, sciences, engineering, medicine, and management, among others.
Wuhan University and CityU collaborated in a degree completion agreement that allows students to start an MBA in China and transfer to CityU to finish the degree in Seattle.
Changchun University of Finance and Economics
Changchun University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), is a public comprehensive university in northern China. With a student enrollment of 12,000, CUFE strong academic programs are in business, law, and technology.
City University of Seattle, CUFE, and Vysoka Skola Financni a Spravni (VSFS) in the Czech Republic partnered to provide students access and educational pathways to earn three bachelor’s degrees and an MBA in three different countries. Students start their academic journey in China, later transfer to VSFS in Prague, and finish in Seattle. Students earn three undergraduate degrees – one from China, one from the Czech Republic, and one from the U.S. After students successfully earn a bachelor’s degree, they may opt to earn an MBA at CityU’s campus in Seattle.
