City University of Seattle to recognize 1,144 graduates during 2017 commencement
City University of Seattle will recognize 1,144 graduates worldwide, including 560 students attending the university’s 42nd annual commencement ceremony June 17 at 1 p.m. at Key Arena.
About the graduates
CityU will confer an estimated five associate degrees, 302 bachelor’s degrees, 249 master’s degrees and 4 doctoral degrees. The university will recognize 31 students with President’s Honors (for eligible master’s degree candidates with GPAs of 3.90 or higher) and 116 with Latin Honors (for eligible bachelor’s degree candidates who attain the following requisite GPAs: a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher – summa cum laude, a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or higher – magna cum laude, a cumulative GPA of 3.70 or higher – cum laude).
Kelly Maloney, president and CEO of the Aerospace Futures Alliance – the largest aerospace industry association in Washington State – will deliver the keynote address at the commencement ceremony.
Maloney has more than 30 years of experience in marketing communications, branding, government affairs, media relations and advertising. She has used her talents to launch new enterprises and lines of business as a director, founder and chief executive, and her experience as an elected official has enabled her to bring industry, education and government together for enhanced collaboration.
David Hinojosa, who is earning a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling, will be the student speaker at this year’s ceremony.
