Is this program for me?
If you are a certified teacher and wish to qualify as "Highly Qualified" in Elementary Education (K-8),
this program is for you. This program is offered at multiple Western Washington locations where you will
join with our B.A.Ed. or M.I.T. students who are also earning their endorsement.

What will I learn?
The Elementary (K-8) program will provide you with the knowledge and tools needed to teach core curriculum
to a diverse population of elementary and middle school children.

What can I do with my endorsement?
Upon successful completion of this program and the WEST-E* exam, you will qualify for a Washington State
Endorsement in Elementary Education and for "Highly Qualified" status. Endorsements are an important part
of a career advancement path that can provide you with expanded opportunities and options in the field
of education.

Note: Washington State also has reciprocity with over 40 other states however, if you are not a
Washington teacher, please check with your state for approval prior to taking this program.

- Complete a CityU Application
- Complete Endorsement Program Application and an "Agreement of Understanding" for the endorsement you are seeking.
- Request Official Transcripts
- Submit a copy of your teaching certificate
