If you are a teacher who needs a master’s degree and wishes to create a customized program of study,
the M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction program is designed for you. You can earn your M. Ed. while
studying an area of interest or an endorsement, or complete the requirements for the Professional
Certificate for teachers.

What will I learn?
We’ve designed this program to provide you with flexible learning opportunities so you can study your
areas of interest while expanding on important concepts such as best practices for personal learning,
multicultural perspectives, increasing family and community engagement and current issues in education.
You will work closely with an advisor to customize a program that meets your needs and interests.
If you choose to pursue your Professional Certificate, your courses will be aligned with Washington
State standards and criteria for Teacher Professional Certification.

Completion of the program along with Washington State Professional Certification (if needed) will reward
you with greater recognition, career options, and advancement opportunities.
