Washington Academy of Languages

A division of City University of Seattle, the Washington Academy of Languages (WAL) has provided English and foreign language training to the Seattle community since 1979. WAL offers three specialized programs:

• A robust English Language Program that helps to prepare students to enter CityU's undergraduate and graduate academic programs.
• An extensive foreign language catalog providing foreign language traning to novice and advanced speakers alike. While the majority of participants are seeking personal and professional language acquisition, undergraduate academic credit is avialable for students who wish to meet degree foreign language requirements.
• A TESL Certificate Program preparing individuals to ELP teachers. Coursework is also available for Washington Certificate K-12 teachers looking to earn credits toward an ELL endorsement.
