Is the Special Education endorsement program for me?

If you're a certified teacher in Washington state and want to work with special needs children, this program is a great fit. It's offered at multiple locations throughout western Washington and you'll join B.A. Ed. and M.I.T. students who are earning their endorsement, too.

What will I learn in the Special Education endorsement program?

You'll cover best practices, how federal and state legislation can impact your role, the importance of community support, and resources for families of special needs children. This is a state-approved endorsement program and is recognized by Washington's Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).

What can I do with my endorsement in Special Education?

You'll be qualified to teach in public or private special education programs. For career teachers, endorsements mean more options and opportunities for advancement.

Note: You will need to pass a Washington Educator Skills Test (WEST-E) exam to earn your endorsement. Check out the WEST-E exam website for more info.
