Why should I become a National Board Certified Teacher?

Because it shows you've met the highest standards for professional teaching excellence. In our National Board Support Program you'll go through a program of intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment and peer review. It's rigorous, sure, but the rewards are huge. They include recognition of your achievement, positive effects on student learning, financial incentives and career advancement in many school districts, and the satisfaction of knowing you were judged by your peers as one of the best in your field.

Is the National Board Support Program for me?

If you're a certified teacher, librarian or counselor and want to prepare for National Board Certification, we can help with guidance throughout the process, feedback and assessment preparation.

This program includes about 40 hours of facilitation led by National Board Certified teachers.

What does the National Board Support Program cost?

$600 - not including National Board fees.

How do I apply?

• Please contact Program Director Christine Katayama or call 425.709.5444.
• You don't need to apply to CityU but you will need to complete a Continuing Education Registration Form (sign up for course number EPC 9000 – National Board Support).
