If you wish to qualify as a counsellor or therapist and seek registration with the B.C.A.C.C. our Master of Counselling program is designed for you.
For over 12 years, CityU has offered British Columbian students Counselling programs that fit their lives. You can build upon your existing bachelor
degree by choosing to attend our new fulltime program or pick a more work friendly schedule. Courses are offered in Vancouver, Victoria and
outlying areas (via our mixed-mode format.)

What will I learn?
Your courses will address: fundamental skills; diversity and cultural psychology; ethics and law; grief
and loss; family systems; research; human development; psychopathology and psychopharmacology; testing
and assessment; psychotherapy theory; group counselling; psychological trauma; and addictions.

What can I do with my degree?
Become a counsellor or therapist qualified for professional registration. Completion of a recognized
master's degree is a requirement for professional registration and a key step on the road to career
advancement. Graduates of the CityU counseling program, work in community agencies, private practice,
colleges and universities, health care facilities, government departments, and employee assistance programs.
