Division of Doctoral Studies

The Division of Doctorial Studies provides working professionals with training and educational opportunities, available 100% online, with the option for in-person residencies in Seattle. Fully accredited, the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership program helps educators and administrators develop advanced skills in strategic analysis, change management, international education, and organizational development. Students can focus their research in the areas of educational leadership (P-12), higher education, or organizational leadership. Graduates from this program will be well-equipped to assume senior leadership positions in organizations, universities or public school systems.

The Ed.D. program has been recognized for its top-tier content and commitment to academic rigor, while also commended for its superior level of flexibility, support, and value.

  • Our program is designed with the needs of working professionals in mind.
Students appreciate the relevance of their assignments and have shared success stories about being selected for critical roles because of the learning they articulated in their job interviews. See Giovanna San Martin's story.
  • Our doctoral faculty provide 1-on-1 mentoring and are practitioners in their field.
Not only are they responsive and provide relevant, constructive feedback, they also bring the course content to life with real-life stories that help students make connections with difficult-to-grasp content. See Dr. Kate Quinn's story.
  • We offer academic support and professional opportunities.
We have implemented a state-of-the-art academic support lab with 1x1 coaching to help students make the transition from master’s level to doctoral level thinking, writing, and research. In addition, our students are given opportunities to connect and network with key leaders around the world – both in person and online. See more about our recent leadership forum.
  • We have a strong global presence and emphasize diversity.
With students and faculty from all over the world, understanding cultural differences and diversity is an essential component of the program. Fellow students feel challenged to grow and develop their cultural intelligence and see the benefit of these skills in their personal leadership development. See Laura Carrillo de Anda's story.
  • Free textbooks.
We offset tuition costs by providing 24/7 online access to free textbooks and resources for 90% of our courses. This translates to between $4000 - $6000 in savings.
