City University of Seattle offers an Endorsement program in Middle Level Humanities to equip teachers who wish to become highly qualified to teach language arts and social studies classes to children in grades four through nine. Our state-approved program will give you the content knowledge and teaching instruction you need to bring the following courses to life for middle and junior high school students:
- world, united states and pacific northwest history
- american government
- language arts
CityU of Seattle’s middle level humanities endorsement program allows you to earn a fully online teaching credential while continuing your regular daily activities. If you have a Washington State teaching certificate and want to become a middle level language arts or social studies teacher, CityU’s experienced, practicing staff members are ready to help you meet your goal. Your middle school endorsement in humanities prepares you to impart local and worldwide historical, economic and sociologic lessons along with the reading and writing expertise that provides the foundation for the rest of your students’ learning. If you are a certified teacher with a bachelor’s degree in a related field, you can apply to this program. You’ll cover all of the content knowledge you need to prepare for Washington Educator Skills Tests (WEST-E ®) in both English language arts middle level humanities (#010) and social studies middle level humanities (#011).
