Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering (ZUAE)
The program between Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering and CityU is a 3+1 student exchange program. It allows students from Zhongkai to transfer to CityU
where they will complete their last year to earn a U.S. bachelor degree. Zhongkai began transferring
students from Guangzhou to CityU in Bellevue, Wash. in the fall of 2010.
Founded in 1927, Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering (Zhongkai) occupies about 100 acres on the south bank of the Zhujiang (Pearl) River in Guangzhou, China.
In 1984, the school was evaluated and sanctioned by the Ministries of Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry and Education as a university. It now
employs 600 staff members preparing students in twenty-six majors through sixteen teaching departments. They are: Social Science, Chemistry and Chemical
Engineering, Agriculture, Economics and Management, and Computer Science. The school also is unique in that it serves as a regional center for the International
English Language Testing System (IELTS) headquartered at Cambridge University in England.
Zhongkai has more than 12,000 students, including adult learners and graduate students. The student population is expected to grow by 26,000 in the next five years.
