Ready to become a Special Ed Teacher?
City University of Seattle and its partners* invite paraprofessionals in King, Snohomish, and Skagit County schools to earn a bachelors degree and become dual-endorsed teachers (K-12 Special Education with K-8 Elementary Education endorsements.)

Are You Eligible?
  • Do you have an interest in teaching students with special needs in Washington?
  • Do you have 3 or more years of full-time experience as a paraprofessional in a public school?
  • Do you hold a transferable AA degree or higher?
  • Have you passed (or can you pass) all sections of the WEST-B prior to admission?

The Details
  • This 2-year, field-based program honoring the experience of paraprofessionals starts October, 2008
  • Up to $16,000 in a “tuition offset” forgivable loan is available if you teach special education in Washington after graduation. ($8K for each 2 year commitment)
  • CityU is a not-for-profit university that offers affordable tuition and work friendly class schedules
  • Locations: Classes held at Skagit Valley College, CityU Everett, Seattle Public Schools, other King County sites contingent on enrollments
