City University of Seattle’s recent partnership with CETYS Universidad (CETYS) will begin offering Mexican students and professionals the opportunity to engage in and earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration. CETYS is a private, not-for-profit higher education institution founded in 1961 by local business and civic leaders to provide quality educational alternatives for the State of Baja California. Initially located in Mexicali, CETYS has evolved into an institution with wide national recognition and international reach that has contributed to the development of the border economy.

CETYS is approved by the Mexican Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education and Social Welfare of the State of Baja California. It is accredited by the Mexican Federation of Private Institutions (FIMPES) and is one of only a few private universities that hold membership in the National Association of Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES). CETYS has also been granted eligibility status by the Western Association of Colleges and Universities to seek institutional accreditation in the U.S. In addition, CETYS has been recognized by the Mexican Ministry of Education as one of a select number of private institutions of high quality, as well as by the Government of Baja California as the only private institution of excellence in the State.

CETYS currently has close to 6,000 students pursuing both credit-bearing and continuing education courses in business, engineering, law and the behavioral sciences through its locations in Mexicali, Tijuana, and Ensenada. International partnerships include student exchanges, faculty mobility, and programs in the U.S., Canada, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Chile, and Brazil.
