How Do I Find Case Studies?

You can find case studies on many management topics through the library's online databases and catalog. Below you will find instructions on how to search for these cases.

Finding Cases in Management Databases

Business Source Complete
Abstracts and full text articles from scholarly and popular business, law, and computer systems periodicals.
  1. Scroll down to the Document Type box and select Case Study (left-hand column)
  2. Search the database with key words about your topic or geographic location

Searches include:

ABI/Inform Trade and Industry  Show Me
Full text articles from business magazines and newsletters with a trade or industry focus. Includes industry news, product and competitive information, and marketing trends.

  1. Enter Case Study as a search term, and choose Subject from the drop-down menu
  2. On the next line, enter key words about your topic or geographic location
For example, search for industry and trade case studies about the European Union.

Computer Source  Show Me
Full text articles on topics such as computer science, programming, artificial intelligence, information systems, software, etc.

  1. Scroll down to the Document Type box and select Case Study
  2. Search the database with key words about your topic or geographiclocation

For example, search for case studies about computer networks.

Accounting and Tax  Show Me
Abstracts and full text articles from nearly 300 accounting and tax publications with official releases from the AICPA and FASB. Includes selective indexing of tax-related information and articles from business journals.

  1. Enter Case Study as a search term, and choose Subject from the drop-down menu
  2. On the next line, enter key words about your topic or geographic location

For example, search for accounting and tax case studies about multinational corporations.

Find Case Studies by Country

Search for case studies by country in Google:
  1. Find the domain code of the country you want to search the Internet Assigned Numbers Authoritydatabase. (For example, the domain code for the United Kingdom is “.UK”)
  2. Go to Google's Advanced Searchpage
  3. Enter your search words the in the top section titled “Find web pages that have…
  4. Near the bottom, enter domain code in the box labeled “Search within a site or domain
  5. Click the “Advanced Search” button to see the results

Books and Journals with Case Studies

Search CatalogPlus to find case studies in books, e-books or other online resources. You can limit to Books or eBooks under "Refine My Results" at the left of the screen.
