Laid-Off Worker Scholarships
City University of Seattle is making available more than $2.7 million dollars in scholarships to Washington state residents who have been laid-off from their jobs within the last 180 days. CityU of Seattle will provide 200 tuition scholarships for laid-off workers completing bachelor's degrees worth $10,800 each over the life of the program. CityU will also provide 200 tuition scholarships for laid-off workers completing graduate degrees worth $3,000 each over the life of the program. As a private, not-for-profit university that is funded by tuition dollars and not by endowments or public funding, CityU is in a unique position to be able to provide qualified laid-off workers in Washington state with financial assistance to go to school. Note:
These scholarships will be applied toward your CityU tuition, but will not cover the full tuition. Financial aid and student loans are available for those who qualify and can be combined with these scholarships. Please be aware that City University of Seattle cannot advise individuals in relation to their unemployment benefits and how returning to school may affect their eligibility. It is advised that you contact whomever is managing your unemployment claim before you enroll into CityU and/or before fill out your claim for the first time and let them know you are interested in returning to school. |
