MBA Program with University of International Business and Economy (UIBE)

Approved by the Chinese Ministry Of Education, CityU offers another year of American education and delivers Chinese students a highly-sought after American degree.

For 2011, CityU offers a best-in-class MBA program in Beijing. The CityU MBA program is designed for Chinese managers who wish to have both a formal American education and state-of-the-art business know-how they can apply right away to their working lives. The MBA study provides a systematic approach to decision-making in the business environment.

• The master program consists of 15 months, 15 courses and 48 credits.
• The program is taught entirely face-to-face by foreign professors and UIBE professors.
• CityU foreign professors travel to China from the U.S. or Europe to teach 11 of the 15 courses.
• Face-to-face classes are held Saturday and Sunday for two consecutive weeks each month.
• Foreign professors are at the disposal of students during the week for meetings, mentoring and special support.
• All CityU faculty members are practitioner experts in the subject matters they teach and have many years business experience at the executive level. Some faculty members also have renowned worldwide companies. All have a passion for teaching Chinese students.

Founded in 1951 and formerly called Beijing Institute of Foreign Trade, UIBE was first designated a key university by the Chinese government in 1960 for its outstanding academic programs. In May 1997, UIBE was put on a list of universities for Project 211 — a governmental program aimed at converting about 100 Chinese universities into world-renowned, high-quality academic institutions in 21st century. In 2000, UIBE became a state university under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, and that June, merged with China Institute of Finance. Since that time, UIBE has become a leader in economics, business management and finance. Since its establishment, UIBE has been committed to putting a high emphasis on academic research and business practice to prepare students to work in the areas of business, economics, finance, foreign trade, foreign languages, etc.

UIBE consists of numerous academic schools, departments and research centers, offering over 1,440 undergraduate classes, 780 postgraduate classes, and 68 doctoral programs. At present, UIBE has a total enrollment of more than 11,000 students from China and 102 countries. It also has 730 teaching faculty and 1,505 administrative staff members. With China as a backdrop, UIBE projects an image of internationalization with its worldwide university partnerships, its schools and research institutes as well as its faculty and student body from more than 100 nations.
