Sanford Instructor with a class

Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at City University of Seattle to host first workshop

City University of Seattle is pleased to announce the opening of the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at City University of Seattle. The Institute, which is made possible through the vision of and generosity from T. Denny Sanford to the National University System, will bring education and professional fundraising resources to nonprofit leaders in Washington.

The Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at City University of Seattle is part of a nationwide network of Institutes led by the founding Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at National University, which developed the educational curricula and resources shared by all affiliated Institutes.

The purpose of the Institute is to help individuals in the nonprofit sector learn how better to communicate about their causes and apply a business-minded approach to fundraising. With better fundraising strategies, nonprofits will be empowered to raise more money and in turn better support their missions.

“When an organization’s fundraising capabilities improve, the impact they have in the community grows,” said Libbie Stellas, Director of the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at City University of Seattle. “Together we can enable nonprofits to make the world a better place.”

Upcoming event

The Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at City University of Seattle will be hosting its first event on Wednesday, May 31. The workshop will explore social styles and teach attendees how to be adaptive and versatile when working when donors. Registration is $15 per person and includes lunch.
