As a nonprofit university system, giving back to the communities we serve is a priority year-round. However, November is a special month when we all take time to reflect on the things for which we are grateful and let that inspire the philanthropist in all of us to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Collaboration is a pillar of what has made the National University System a true leader in redefining learning in the 21st Century. Through the System, our higher education affiliates each bring unique talents and strengths that define their institutions and allow us to collectively offer a wide range of services, such as shared student support systems and career-enhancing academic pathways, that benefit our students and lifelong learners.
I am proud that the National University System is dedicated to delivering an exceptional student experience to every learner, focused on student success, and ensuring programs and degrees are market-relevant and aligned with workforce needs. As the population of adult learners continues to grow alongside technological advancement, the demand for new education models and high-choice academic pathways also grow.
As students and faculty around across the country gear up for back-to-school, I want to acknowledge and thank all of the hard-working students, faculty and staff at CityU who are committed to education year-round.
In June, the National University System (NUS) recognized more than 3,000 graduates who crossed the stage at three separate commencement ceremonies.
In May, we began celebrating graduates for achieving their educational goals, and as May is Teacher Appreciation Month, we took time to recognize educators who give so much to our students. In addition, Memorial Day afforded us the opportunity to pay tribute to the brave men and women in our military and veteran community for their dedicated service to this country.
