What is Citywise?
A person's level of intelligence used to be clearly delineated between streetwise or academically successful.
People either went to an institute of higher learning soon after graduating high school or they relied on
their street smarts to make their way in the world. But there's a new kind of savvy to strive for - we call
it Citywise - and it comes from a unique blend of experiences, both in and out of the classroom.
Becoming Citywise is about spending some time experiencing the real world, learning how you relate to
people and what is truly important to you, and thus having both the experience and formal education
necessary to decide the direction in which you want to take your life and your career. It's a perspective
on life that celebrates all types of learning and acknowledges that we are constantly growing, evolving,
and absorbing knowledge from a variety of sources. The Citywise philosophy encompasses the evolution of
higher education, of which CityU is at the forefront. Education comes from all angles. Be Citywise.
What can I study?
We have dozens of programs
- more than 60 in all, including undergraduate and graduate degrees, certificates and endorsements.
CityU programs cover business, technology, management, education, general studies, communications, psychology and counseling, just to name a few.
Where can I study?
CityU has 27 locations
in the Northwest and worldwide. And each of them offers day, night and weekend classes. Many of our degree, certificate
and endorsement programs are also offered completely online so you can learn from anywhere. Whatever works best for you.
What are the different ways to take a class?
You can go the traditional
route and attend class in person, complete coursework online
, or mix it up with a little of both
. CityU is all
about giving you the flexibility to fit school into your busy life.
How much does CityU cost?
CityU is a not-for-profit university, which means our focus is on education, not the bottom line. Our tuition rates
are competitive, and
you'll find a full range of financial aid and scholarship programs, too.
Can I get credit for my work experience?
Definitely. Our Prior Learning Assessment Program
lets you earn credits for the learning you've already done in the real world, provided
your experience is recent and verifiable. You may also receive credit for military courses as evaluated by ACE.
I'm nervous about going back to school. How can you help?
Well, we can tell you it won't be easy. If you're motivated and committed to following through, you can do it. And we have plenty
available to help make it as rewarding and hassle-free as possible.
